Getting started

After installing Hush, you need to enable it once in iOS Settings:

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone
• Tap Phone
• Tap Call Blocking & Identification
• Toggle Hush on

That's it. Hush will immediately start blocking spam calls based on your downloaded blocklist.

Syncing the blocklist

Hush comes pre-loaded with a blocklist at install. To get the freshest data, tap the sync button (↻) on the main screen or go to Settings and then Sync Blocklist Now. You can also enable Auto-Sync on Launch to update automatically every time you open the app.

The app shows "0 blocked"

This number reflects how many spam numbers are in your local blocklist, not how many calls have been blocked. If it shows 0, try syncing. Tap ↻ on the main screen and make sure you have an internet connection during sync.

A spam call got through

Our blocklist is updated daily but no list is perfect. If a spam number got through, please report it. Tap the Report tab, enter the number, and choose a category. Your report is anonymous and immediately adds that number to the database for all users.

A legitimate call was blocked

We're sorry about that. If you know a number is being incorrectly blocked, please email us at hello@hush.click with the number and we'll remove it from the list.

Does Hush work in the background?

Yes. Once the CallKit extension is enabled in iOS Settings, blocking happens at the OS level even when the app is closed. You don't need to keep Hush open.

Adjusting the block threshold

Go to the Settings tab in Hush. The Block Threshold slider controls how aggressive blocking is. A lower score blocks more calls (may include some false positives). A higher score is more conservative (may let some spam through). The default of 60 is a good balance for most users.
